US Open

Hello everyone!!  (no I didn’t forget to write!!  Just been busy!)

Last week was a lot of fun but I have to admit that I was very nervous being in one of the last couple of groups.  Great experience though and I hope to continue on with the higher finishes!

The Open has been fun so far and very HOT!  Lots of humidity in the air along with the sun—makes AJ sweat a lot.  Yuck!  Then throw in some thunder and lightening and you have quite a show!

The first round was interupted by some stormy weather as we got to sit in the clubhouse for 3 hours.  The USGA updated us every 30 minutes–only to tell us to keep waiting.  Fun times!

I played very solid the first day though and was extremely pleased with the results of even par.  But of course the early morning did not seem to go as smoothly.  Opps!  I played hard yesterday in the second round and managed to hold it together–finished with a birdie!  yaa!

Now it is the waiting game.  Watching the internet/scores and see where I fair.  I am sure many of you are doing the same thing!  Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers for me:)  I can hear them all!

For now, my mom and I are relaxing and watching Wimbledon.  Love to watch tennis and it is a great show so far!

I will update you when I know more but for now thanks for checking on me!

Have a great weekend!

Love AJ

Rochester

Happy Summer everyone!

I know the weather is finally getting hot and you are thinking about putting that bathing suit on!  What a fun time eh?? NOT!  OH well, everyone has to do it so don’t worry!  My tan lines are so bad though that I think I am just going to stay away from the bathing suit until the darkness comes and I can sit in the hot tub:)

Any way, back to golf.  I am in Rochester, NY right now and it is fun so far!  A bit breezy but that is ok as it keeps it a bit cooler:)

I am really looking forward to the tournament as my game is at a point now where I am really starting to feel like my old self again.  I had my reminder this week that I really need to visualize my shots more and see the perfect shot in my mind before I hit.  Trust me, this really does work, and helps a great deal!

Hope everyone is still having fun with their golf games and such as well.  I will write again soon as I get ready for the US Women’s Open next week.  My mom is coming to watch so that will be lots of fun too!!  Poor dad has to stay at home, but I am sure he will be watching the computer and tv like a hawk!:)

Take care and have some fun!  Love AJ

US Open!!

Hello everyone!

Just wanted to let you all know that I qualified on Monday for the Women’s US Open! Yes it was quite exciting, not to mention tiring!

I shot a 2-under 70 the first round and then moved on to a 4-under 67 for the second round!  It was a lot of fun and I played a lot of smart golf.  I hit a lot of 3-woods off of tees as I was having some problems with the driver.  I guess even us pros can use a little common sense now and then eh??  ha ha

Any way, I am enjoying a week off right now in Phoenix at my house.  I love my bed and and also my couch, although I haven’t seen nearly enough of them yet:)  I am all caught up on my paper work now though so I can do some good bonding time with my couch now and watch the men’s US Open.  Should be fun!

Off I go now, just wanted to let you all know the good news! Thanks for checking on me and good luck yourselves!!

Talk to you all soon!  Remember I am back in Rochester, NY, next week so you still have to keep everything crossed–it is beginning to work!!

Thanks, Love AJ

McDonalds Championship

Hello all!  The first major of the year for me is here!  YAA

I know you are all hoping and praying for me…keep doing it!  It all helps and I know this will be a good week for me.  So cross your fingers, your toes, your hair, your legs, whatever you can think of!!  Prayers help too—my friend Sonya says she prays for me weekly and we all need that:)  (Thanks Pards!)

My game is on track and I am really going to focus on my routine this week.  Perhaps the last couple of weeks might have ended differently if I had really stuck to my rountine through thick and thin.  Sometimes I get going too fast and get out of my routine.  Thus not taking time to fully commit to the shot.  Not going to be the case this week.  I am going to take my time and make the perfect shot!

I am still having fun out here so no worries about that.  I do have a week off starting next Tuesday and I am looking forward to that.  Atleast I can sit at home on the weekend and enjoy it knowing I don’t have a tournament that I should be playing in!:)   Also, I can really watching the men struggle at their US Open Championship!

Next Monday before I head home, I have a US Open qualifier–36 holes.  Sounds like fun eh??  It is being played just out of Baltimore, MD.  A couple solid rounds will get me through that and I can be playing at Pine Needles CC!  I can’t wait.  That is where I had a great US Open back in 2000.

OK off I must go to eat and watch the finals of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.  So sad that hockey season is almost over.  Oh well, need to get into another season so my Canucks can get back on form!

I hope everyone is doing well and having some fun too!  I am sure you are all going to enjoy summer and the great family times that it brings!  That is my favorite–spending time hanging out with my family and friends–while sipping a glass of wine–out on the deck!

Keep in touch and remember to ‘cross’ everything you can find for me!:)  ha ha

Love ya, AJ
