Green Card
Hi there everyone! I know that fall is starting to come close, as I finally had to dig out the cool weather stuff. No don’t worry the weather is still hot as ever in Phoenix!! I made a trip up to Montreal in order to have my final stage of the LONG process of getting my Green Card. It is just a simple interview but with lots of little ifs ands or buts involved. I got in a day early to make sure I had things arranged. Only to have to wait in the lobby of the hotel at 1245am for 2.5 hours because of a power outage–only hotel in Montreal, by the way! Then I got shipped over to another hotel–very nice though! Toured around Montreal the next day when I finally awoke, nice city but a little dull when by yourself. I did enjoy the weather as I haven’t felt that nice crisp type of air for some time! Had my interview the following day–only to find that I had to make a cross city and then some trip to find a RCMP(police) office that could issue me a little certificate that said I haven’t been in any trouble in the 5 days since my fingerprints had expired!! Oh well, it really wouldn’t have been much of a story if not for the $140 cab ride right???? ha ha
So now, I am sitting in the original hotel lobby, rechecked in, with power…having a glass of wine. Can’t wait for tomorrow when I can pick up my passport and be done with this process–yes the US can’t get rid of me that easy!! Just kidding, but it will be nice to travel freely back and forth without having to renew a visa every year.
The wrist is still getting better day by day. I am doing my exercises daily and I think I can almost feel normal–well, for the wrist anyway:) About a 3 week count down now until I will swing a club. I will be going to visit my coach, Trevor to start it right though. Granted he gets back from his trip to Scotland ok–nice eh??
Hope that everyone is well and healthy and enjoying the cooler weather–even if it is just slightly cooler!! Take care, AJ
